Advanced Mentoring Program by Internet Marketing Center - any feedback ?
I have spent a few months now starting online ventures, with eBooks and other products, using eBay both as a lead to build customer lists and as well to sell higher priced items. I want to accelerate my revenue generating.
I have had a couple of interviews with the IMC and have to decide whether I will be applying for the Advanced Mentoring program (around 7000 $ for 6 month one-on-one coaching with a REAL expert).
Before making any choice, I need to get some feedback from REAL people having gone through this program.
If you know the program, please give me feedback !

Know the company but not the program. Regardless of the content.....$7,000 is way over priced (IMO). SEO trainings are much more affordable than that. Although I suppose their training includes how to write sales letters, manage email marketing campaigns with their program mail loop (it sucks I tried it), use their affiliate program software (better to use web based systems IMO) the training can't be worth $7,000. Plus no one I'm aware of at the IMC has ever run any stand alone web business except Cory Rudl (who unfortunately is deceased) so I don't know who would be mentoring you? You can learn more here by watching and reading the treads of the influencers or find more affordable trainings like mine and that of other current and former members of this forum.

For quantifiable training it's under-priced IMHO - a trained SEO can manage 7-10 contracts singlehandedly over a year and that tends to be about $10K minimum per contract or $70-100K income 'minimum'... $7K isn't reasonable fee for that revenue potential.
...if you look at the "referrals" (and I checked them all out) they're not making revenue off doing SEO services (for themselves or anyone else).

IMC mentoring is not just SEO...
thanks for your input.
the Program is way more than SEO... it is personal coaching from people who have proven track records, over 6 months, to set-up proven online business models that would be adapted to your niche market. They're not employees of IMC...
I would never pay 7000$ for a 6 month SEO contract, as I used to work in that field from 2000 til 2002 and only need to refresh my knowledge and roam this forum to start getting some traffic generating rankings.

Uhhmm...no need to shout. If you check our archives there was a similar post about two years ago and no one who responded had taken the mentoring program. I doubt you will find anyone here who has taken the program or as Fathom suggests would admit it. Perhaps you should get the phone numbers of a few people who have been in the mentoring program but are not IMC mentors. Good they have mentors from outside of their company IMO.
No one is suggesting you spend $6,000 on SEO. BTW Google was not the player it is today in 2000 so SEO is very different but as you suggest this is a great place to learn if you watch the influencers and their posts.
What I was suggesting is that I have first hand experience with a couple of the Internet Marketing Centers products and I decided to use web based products for email marketing and affiliate program management instead of their computer based products. They did give me my money back which I was impressed with but I wasted a lot of hours working with their stuff. I didn't have those challenges when I switched to web based products. What you spend your money on depends on what you want to achieve. Perhaps IMC will be right for you. Good luck and welcome to SEO Chat.

thanks europa & fathom
So far I have tried their Internet Entrepreneur Club and find the help & advice I get very good.
However, I must admit that their customer support is really not up to it, as I have struggled multiple times to get answers to my requests (I have ordered a course almost 2 months ago, still not received, and to get updated on order status takes forever).
Here is what I am going to do: I am going to ask for 3-5 references of people who have used the program and made a sginificantly jump in revenue because of it - get their phone # and call them up.
Re: SEO - I will of course stick around this forum as it seems that there is NO other place as thorough on SEO than here (talking about forums).

I had a chance to be in their office and interviewed at this company last year for the consultant position. So I have some inside look at their business model and requirements for the skills of their consultants. You can PM me if you are still interested.

I'm also very interested if the mentoring program is worth it or not - I'm strongly considering joining it. Did you get any relevant intel from seoprofs or the mentoring program successful clients you wanted to call?
I'm also too new here to be able to send PMs, so if you can do it now, pls PM me (Oh, well, and if you can do it, you might consider contacting ramses357 and bardoville, members here, who said have joined the program.)

10x!
I take a hard position on mentoring first because mentoring doesn't work.
I'll assume you desire mentoring because you wish to be better at SEO to:
1. do your own so you don't need to outsource
2. to become a seo professional offering services for others.
Paying someone to teach you (for either case) is equal to return you'll get today, but you better be prepared to:
1. retain their mentoring services indefinitely to keep-up-to-date, or
2. or keep yourself up-to-date yourself with everything new is search engines or your return will be lackluster.
The alternative - learn everything you can on "links"... how to get them, how to get better ones, and everything that define better links like linkbait, social bookmarking, and multimedia.

Sometimes I'm a little slow on the uptake but "IF" you're only interested in finding out of the program is worth it or not... how did you come across ramses357 and bardoville and their interest in the program?

Well, I found their posts by searching anything related to IMC's advanced mentoring program. I see they were just starting with the program when they posted here, and I'd like to contact them directly and ask about their experience, but since this is not something I can do at this moment...
Seems like SEO is really only a part of this program (you can check for yourself at the mentoring section of marketingtips dot com) and I'm not interested only on SEO

And with that "the penny drops"... the thread was from July 2005 and ramses357 hasn't posted since Febrary 2006 (that's almost 2 years ago if you're keeping track)...
...and bardoville made only one post (the one you commented on).
...it's safe to assume the program "didn't work for them"... but hey the guy did scam a dmoz listing out of it so maybe the program is worth it.
