    Question about plagiarism?

We always say content is king and should be unique but can Google also catch plagiarism in Pdf and Ppt publication. If certain report or presentation is a spin off of another original document ,would Google penalize the website or rank it down or itís a waste of time.

Plagiarism - the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as one's own. That in itself doesn't denote the commercialized value.

In the world of ordered results it is difficult to present an unauthorized divertive work (intentional or unintentional) without the original showing as well.

From the side of the search engine... Google's algorithms are not anti-infringement software. Google cannot determine which page(s) are the original & which page(s) are the unauthorized divertive it merely scores each page independently.

Be that as it may, you cannot assume Google, in itself, will "catch" anything and devalue it based on legal or ethical rational anymore than you can say you will be rewarded because of your guile of being the first original in a certain format.

I think a wise policy is to avoid plagiarism at all costs. Sources can be quoted, but those quotes shouldn't be the bread-and-butter of a new piece.
