    Charts, Graphs, and Diagram Content

There is an excellent article in this week's newsletter by Smarty on making old content new by adding illustrations.

Google can't read jpgs or gifs—which is how much of illustrative content is created. Other than the file name, e.g., dogs-playing-poker.jpg, what other ways can one get across to Google what the illustration contains? A popup on the image? Description in the "alt or title tags?" I depend a lot on image names, but sometimes there is quite a bit of info in the illustration that can't be simplified into a 2-3 word image name and it doesn't make sense to create several images (in some cases).
Frankly, I wonder who Frank is and why he has his own adverb.

I usually just make sure that the content on my pages is relevant to my images, that they are placed correctly in the content, they are captioned and that I have all of my alt tags as optimized as possible. I'm not familiar with any ways other than captions and alt tags.

Thanks Tcx. I do those things too, just wondering if I'm missing some opportunity or something new.

Images , graphs and diagrams add fun to your content and makes it easy for the readers to understand what you are actually trying to convey. However, the images used should be in context with the content written, it should show some relevancy.. With this more number of people will visit your page and as a result it will help you achieve good ranks on famous search engines.
