Charts, Graphs, and Diagram Content
There is an excellent article in this week's newsletter by Smarty on making old content new by adding illustrations.
Google can't read jpgs or gifs—which is how much of illustrative content is created. Other than the file name, e.g., dogs-playing-poker.jpg, what other ways can one get across to Google what the illustration contains? A popup on the image? Description in the "alt or title tags?" I depend a lot on image names, but sometimes there is quite a bit of info in the illustration that can't be simplified into a 2-3 word image name and it doesn't make sense to create several images (in some cases).
Frankly, I wonder who Frank is and why he has his own adverb.
