Wordpress SEO question

When Google crawls any of my posts on my website it ends up looking like this in the search results - img241.imag eshack.us/img241/ 2940/fff ffg1.jpg (delete the spaces)

What do I need to do so I get nice looking results? I just want it to show a description of my choice, not any of that admin, categories stuff that you see. Is it anything to do with the "excerpt" box in Wordpress?

I am confused as what I need to do, please help me out

Hi CC,

That one's an image url... but I think you're asking how to rewrite your urls so that they use your category / post names rather than meaningless category id's etc...

If so - youneed to go to your admin' section and select settings/permalinks

I usually use "custom" and then have: /%category%/%postname%/

That will rewrite all your urls to use your category and postnames rather than ID's and will also redirect the old urls to the new ones

I have the permalinks sorted out already, I am talking about what I need to do so I can get nice looking descriptions, thus making it more likely for people to click through Google to me.

If anybody can take a look at the image I posted, you will see what I mean.

I am sorry that I can not describe it any better. This is really frustrating me, as I feel that I can not post on my website again until I know what to do.

There is a plugin called "All in One SEO Pack" which allows you to add a title of your choice, description and even keywords for the post or page. I may have something set up incorrectly b/c the descriptions under the search engine results are displaying the first few lines of the post or page. I am still new at the blog world so figuring things out isn't as easy.

There are quite a few SEO plugins available. I would do a search and see what fits your needs and if other users are finding them useful.

Clicky- is it normal for the URL's to display in a breadcrumb like fashion on WP? I would like to eliminate it but I cant seem to figure out how to get rid of the category, page, etc. in the URL and I have Permalinks set to custom: /%postname%/
