All the blogs are helpful, but use those blogs which are cached on time to time. That will help you to explore yourself. Few names are wetpaint, weebly, typepad, blogger etc.

I take it your asking which blog to install on your site and not which blogs to spam comments on correct?

Well lets go with the first, your looking for a blog system to install on your site

I have used and will continue to use Wordpress for all my personal blogs and some work blogs because I simply love the plugins that you can get with WP to save you time having to custom code everything.

Also with WP, you can use a plugin called "all in one seo" which as the name says, is any seo plugin for everything you should need, this along with the right on site seo knowledge should be suffice for anyone running a blog.

As for other blog systems, I couldn't tell you because I only use WP and an in house blog at work which has been fully customised by our tech team.

But any blog theme that is seo friendly on any system should work just fine, but I would have to continue to put WP at the top of my list when recommending a blog to anyone

Yes google might own blogger, but how many quality blogger sites do you see ranking well? Hardly any! Just goes to show that thinking your site will have a better chance if you use blogger is a load of s**t! (not saying you said that, but thought it was worth mentioning so others don't get that wrong idea from your comment).

A blog platform has nothing to do with your stats, keywords or rankings, I could code up a clone of wordpress, hand code in html, php or use a different platform and they could all rank just the same as wordpress or blogger could, its your content and links that make your site!

Yer and google also picks up on the spammers easily because they own it!

So no matter what you pick for a blog, make sure its for the right reasons and not for spammy content and link building!
