Question Weblog at companies website.

Hi all!

I'm thinking of integrating a weblog into my companies website to discuss webdesign/webdevelopment issues, like cross-browser CSS, Zend Framework, Javascript / Ajax solutions etc.

This way I hope to receive some regular visitor and have some discussions on the site, and offcourse.. finaly some extra visitors/orders/links.

Now I have a few practical questions about implementing a weblog:

1. I was planning to integrate the weblog into the design of my business website (so visitors could click to content pages directly etc.). Is this good practise or will it make the weblog look to commercial, which would result in not many visitors?

2. Should I make my weblog in English, or in Dutch (native language) when my customers are mostly Dutch? It sounds logical to write in Dutch, but wouldn't I reach more people when it would be in English? (And therefor more links, visitors, etc.) (Would have to practice on my English though ^^).

3. What if other webdesign companies start to create replies on topics with links to there website? Wouldn't the weblog then cost me more customers then it would generate?

4. If I would write technical articles about how to do stuff on the internet. Wouldn't that encourage my visitors/customers to do it themselves, this way, costing my customers again? I read something about that customers then see how difficult some things I do are, and because of that would let you do it... but still.. I'm a bit scared ^^.

5. Would it hurt to post news/updates about my company in the weblog? Or will this make it to commercial again?

6. How often do you need to update a weblog with quite extensive posts to keep the interest of regular visits. I could add a small item every day or so, but larger ones would off course take more time.

Generally is it a good idea, when I'm really prepared to put some effort in it? .

Thanks
