Stopping Comment Spam...

Hey folks, just wanted to share with you an awesome new tool to stop comment spam - it is FREE.

The system uses XML-RPC, so while it works with comment spam, it also works with guestbook, forum, wiki, and pretty much any other program out there that allows for user-inputted information.

The concept is really simple. Whatever a site visitor posts - a comment, a forum posting, etc - gets passed via XML-RPC to linksleeve.org. Linksleeve then extracts the urls and checks them against a database of other urls submitted across the web off of other peoples forums, wikis, blogs, etc. If that link has exceeded the threshold, a "reject" response is returned. If not, an "accept" response is returned.

The more people using the system, the better it works.

does it work with blogger?

I havent been able to figure out a module for blogger yet, but im working on it. If blogger users start to ask for it, though, we might be able to get some traction from the powers that be.
