Social bookmarking

I was looking at del icious . com and I wanted to submit a link. I was able to do it. The question is, I was under the impression that I needed to write an article and could then submit the article to social bookmarking sites. This is not the case correct? I guess I am getting this and article submission directories mixed up. Thanks for entertaining my ignorance.

I was under the impression that del.icio.us was simply a place to bookmark internet urls, kind of like your own browser favorites, but accessible from anywhere online.

I guess if you have published an article you could then bookmark it on del.icio.us.

OK I understand now, no what you want to do is publish the article on your website, then social bookmark the webpage containing the article. Always keep your best stuff on your site.

The way that I use delicious is to create some content on a website then submit the url of the content to delicious under my account - adding a summary and keywords. Then others at delicious can see it or search for it themselves.

i think vbcannon just want to submit a link to del.icious but some of the social bookmarking sites will require you to submit not just a direct link to the site but something about it. a page of the link which contains an article to be read.. i don't know if this is what vbcannon meant.

It's better to publish first your article on your blog and then submit its link to social bookmarking sites....
