Rss feeds
hi
can any body tell me what is rss feed. what is the use of rss feeds? we have a b2b portal of manufacurers and exporters . is threre any use to implement rss feeds on the portal |

I use RSS feeds to read these forums. Rather than going to the site, each post from these and other forums are delivered to my desktop for easy perusing.
As for their use as marketing tools, there's many articles on that. I think basically, and help me out if I've missed good uses, if you create a reason for people to subscribe to your feed, you have a free, unfiltered communication channel with your potential customers. As for SEO use, I'm actually not sure and am interested myself... I thought they'd be a good way to get fresh content onto my home page, so about 8 months ago I added some feeds onto my home page (writing them out as HTML right in the page, not using Javascript) but I can't say I've noticed a boost from the content. I guess because the content is always changing it gets credit as fleeting content, not fresh content. |
