Newbie Alert: To Blog or not to Blog?
Hello all
Need a little advice please, I want to start a blog but have a few questions if you will. First off, is Blogger.com the best blog service to use, my traffic pretty much comes from Google so I figure it would help me out to use Googles services? Or would I be better to install a script on my site where the blog is part of my site? ie blog.mydomain.com so my site has more content...or does it not matter? I did do a forum search but so many more advanced Blog posts I could not really find these basic questions answered! Thank you Kruger |

Sorry I don't understand what you mean, I just wondered which route would be best to go? I just felt adding a blog to my site would be a nice feature and maybe help drive in more traffic!
I know how to set up a blog but not which way would be best for me to go, blogger or own custom script as part of my website! |

Try Wordpress, it can be customized and has good features. It can be installed as part of your site as a blog. For details of installation, visit wordpress website. |

The second option will be better for you because through this you can give your site a fresh content on regular basis and it would be helpful at the time of crawling. |

I suggest that if you already receive some traffic to your site then use a custom script and install wordpress which is excellent for blogging.Stay away from blogger.com since it is free and you never know when you will not be able to access your blog. Also with wordpress you have plenty of plugins to customize your blog which blogger.com does not offer |

wordpress - great widgets and apps / does not allow adsense
blogger - almost sucky widgets / allow adsense just my two cents |

Yes hosting is free but you can not embed ads if you host it on a free host |

That's a good point. Although I have heard from others that the most successful technical configuration involves installing free software on your own host, like wordpress. I've run a few blogger blogs, too, and they work just fine, although there's not a whole lot you can do other than post entries. But then, that's the whole point of a blog in the first place, so... |

Add wordpress onto a current site you have. That way your otherwise static website becomes dynamic and gives people and engines a reason to check back...
