My first blog...help please
I am playing with the idea of setting up a blog to be more involved in my community. I have some ideas as follow:
1. The latest blog entry will be feed to the home page (don't know how to do this yet...may be using RSS, but I don't know it yet.) 2. I want it to have multiple author (which the software does support), the return on investment for author is that they get to include a short about author line in their post which can contain live link to their site. 3. I don't know how to use ping and trackback which I hear so much about. Can anyone help me with number 3 for now? Thanks.

Wordpress and CaRP (Cached RSS Parser) are the only two (free) scripts you need and you won't even need to modify the scripts.

Wordpress is probably the best. when you get it set up, go looking for templates to use and then once you have format that you like, go in and change pictures...etc..

Geez, I should have done more research before I settled with myBloggie.
I will try Wordpress and see how it works. |

I'm setting up a blog right now too and I'm trying to modify WordPress' default theme layout. If you can handle CSS then you probably need just time to make it look just the way you want it to look. Otherwise, the script seems great with lots of useful features.

I've just set up my blog using myBloggie which was a bit tricky to customize - perhaps I should have tried WordPress?
Anyway if anyone gets a change can you check it for cross browers compatability. The add comment sections don't seem to be working very well - this is the problem I'm finding with the myBloggie template system! Cheers. Blog here... |

Personally, I tried myBloggie first, but switched to Wordpress after 10 days. I gave my full reasons here: http://www.greatnexus.com/blog/33.html
I have had no problem with Wordpress and actually have been very impressed so far. |
