Is it alright to ask for...

Is it alright to ask for people to subscribe to my blog? I mean, with a post that says "Subscribe" or anything like that.

If so, how would i word it to be professional and not to sound needy.

If its related to the blog feeds the Yes you can and theres no harm. You may term it as "get auto updates" or simply "subscribe to my blog".
