Integrating RSS Feed into site

I created a blog from blogger and integrated it into my main site. It's like a news section of latest promotions etc and a I created the blog because it is the quickest and most conveneint way of managing this type of thing in my opinion. However I want to integrate the last 5 items of the atom.xml feed onto the website home page. My site is in asp and I find that there is nothing out there that will help me do this...

Can anybody help? I have found information on integrating RSS feeds with asp, but atom xml feeds seem to be different...a bit of a pain in the @**

Please help!

Thanks

I don't know asp though I'm sure there's a solution out there. I use rss2html which is php based and very easy if you can read code. You may want to look into that.

I can read code but I'm not a php expert. I tend to do things in asp...i looked into the rss2html but i would have to put this into a javascript which is ok, but not good for search engines.

I suppose if there is nothing out there for integrating atom.xml and asp in the manner i would like, then I would consider having an asp blog that outputs in rss format instead of atom.xml format. Does anyone know of any asp blogs out there?

I just dont understand why blogger uses this formatting for it's xml output. it basically renders it useless to syndicate your blog on other sites (thereby another type of site promotion)

Since it is a free service you may have answered your own question. Their revenue is dependant on traffic to their site. If the feed is hard to work with a lot of web masters will just link to their blog.

That link is great, thanks, its simple and works well with rss, however the problem with atom.xml files from blogger is that there seems to be no support to integrate it onto a site on the fly, as is the case with rss files. It's been doing my head in, and i looked all over for a facilit to convert atom xml files to rss xml files. The only one that i found was in 2rss.com although it come with advertisements. However if you are wanting to display the last 5 or 10 news items then your viewers would never see this ad. And the other inconvenience is that you have to link to the rss file on their servers, not your....however, it's better than nothing!

If anyone knows of a better, simpler way i'm all ears!
