Question Help me Understand Pinging (please)

I have 3 blogs and I submit blogs for 2 people. How can I not look like spam to who I am pinging.

I removed all my update severvices and just go into ping0matic, check all the boxes and ping the blog when I am finally finished with updating a blog. I have to do that because I notice things needing to be changed and I can end up with the update service accidentally pinging a blog like 10 times in 10 minuts. So I did away with auto update and just go into pingomatic when done.

1. Is just using Pingomatic with all the check marks enough or should I go somewhere else too?

2. If I go update another blog in the same day and then ping it will I look like spam?

3. Should I only blog once a day and just limit myself to 5 blogs?

4. What is the most I should ping from my IP? once an hour? once a day? once a week?

thanks

I wouldn't worry much about pinging if you're using WordPress. It'll ping (notify) pingomatic for you every time you post an article. Pingomatic will, in theory, notify all of the major sites and their crawlers will come running (crawling?) to our site.

All the major sites are up on ping spamming, so if you don't want to get banned from a site, I wouldn't be using an automated ping servicer or program. I have several blogs and post from them regularly, sometimes a couple times a day from a single blog. I've never had a problem with them banning any of my blogs.

IMHO, a blogger has bigger things to worry about such as duplicate content.

TxDon
