Have you got any benefits from blog posting?

Blogging keeps me in touch with a lot of interesting people and expands my view of the world, providing new ideas for my business.

# When I have a problem, especially a technical one, I post it on my site or someone else’s and usually get an informed answer within 24 hours. It’s like a large performance support system.

# It allows people to get to know my opinions before they engage me as a consultant; saving time and potential frustrations.

aside from communication to the blog owners, blog comments brings traffic (but not that much compared to article submissions)

Blog commenting is good in terms of traffic but not effective from SEO perspective since rarely i get back link from them because of no follow.

Traffic wise it has really worked out... once i commented in some blog about the new product next day the blog author had made blog entry about the same product. It was quite exhilarating.

I think running your own blog and leveraging other blogs is an excellent way to drive traffic and in some cases build links. I like to use blogs as a way to build links for my main site where all of my main functionality resides on.

I run a blog for each major site that I have because it provides a medium to delivery fresh content consistently, it is often picked up faster than my main site in terms of crawling frequency. Blogging also gives you more flexibility to write about broader topics than perhaps you would want to on a main site.

So, with these blogs I can use them as a resource in their own right, but also as a method to drive traffic to my main site where there is more opportunity for user engagement.

Blogging increased my return traffic because people know there is something new posted everyday. So if the topic is one they are interested in they will book mark, subscribe etc. I have only recently being trying to think of way to disceetly monitise my 'following'.

For me a good blog on your site is one of the best marketing tools you have at your disposal, if youre willing to put the work into it - it's fun too

They are a good source of traffic depending on the popularity of the blog. If it has plenty of followers/readers, then more chances that they'll see and follow your link

I think blogs can be of huge importance to a lot of industries. When someone is researching your specific product or service they may stumble across your blog and see you as an industry leader. Or someone may recommend your blog, thus once again making you look like you are the best at that specific service.

So the fact that a blog provides a lot of authority is reason enough to have one for most companies (in my opinion).

Hello,

I am trying to learn about blogging. Do you mean we should have a blog on our site www.mysite.com/blog or www.blog.mysite.com or on blogger site as www.mysiteblog.blogspot.com?

Which is the best way to get more people coming to blog and then on to mysite.com?

Thanks in advance....

Madhukar Shah.

I'll pefer www.mysite.com/blog due to few reasons such as transfer of the link juice, being an internal blog etc. Go with this one.

links in blog post get indexed quickly. You can share knowledge and interesting story to everyone and at the same time you can promote your site.

Blogging is really effective to increase your site's traffic as long as you provide your readers with useful and interested content that is updated regularly.

Thumbs up Blog

so not more. I did it and it has less effect. when it's good that you work on your keywords as links on more blogs, more and more.

That is certainly a benefit of blogging as well as marketing yourself. Make sure you blog for the right reasons though to express your opinions, with real, natural content.
