Blog is a Mini website frame where u can post your comment or information related to your website. That is fresh content and it help to crawling fast. Because google wants fresh and uniqe content. But now SEO is using blog for chache their page and driving the traffic and Back link. In that content u can use your web keywords give link to that keyword.

This is way that now a days every SEO using blog for their website. Hope you will understand it. If any confusion plz let me know..

If the blog was highly visited there's a possibility that the site that has links on that blog can also be visited by their visitors.

The advantage of the blog is that one can regularly add refreshing content. The unique content is always loved by search engines. Moreover through blog pinging service, Search Engines crawl the blog frequently.
