Blog URL's
We are going to use Wordpress to implement a blog to our site. We have changed the Permalinks to something more beneficial from an SEO perspective, hopefully. The url's will be www.site.com/blog/category or page/sub-category. It appears the URL will breadcrumb instead of just show the sub-category or current page you are on. Will the breadcrumb URL have a negative effect on potential optimization?
Also, we are using (-) to separate keywords in the URL. At times, the browser displays the dashes as %2D. Will this hurt us SEO wise? Should we switch to (_) instead of (-)? |

Have you tried any of those Wordpress SEO plugins? And regarding the dashes, in my opinion "-" is better than "_", or at least thats what I've read.

Yes, quite a few but we seem to be missing something. We don't see the changes in titles, etc. We are looking up info on their site to see how to display it in the best way possible. We use (_) for our URL re-write on the main part of our site and it seems to be working out fine. Our only concern was that when you went to the home page of the blog, the - would be displayed as a %2D (i.e. key%2Dword instead of key-word). I wanted to know if that would hurt us SEO wise. |

When you are writing an article, bellow the writing blank space you have a slider which opens when you click +. It's named All in One SEO. From there you have the opportunity to change the page (where this article is displayed)title and meta keywords. |

We added info to all of those fields so I guess its displaying properly. We dont see anything for displaying the article in a different place. No matter how much we've read, we still cant figure this out...lol its only funny b/c the amount of time we've spent reading and still dont get it. The rss is all messed up, the URL's are not working the way we thought they were supposed to work (after installing additional plugins) so we are walking away from this for a day as we are spent. We just want to make sure this blog has an SEO benefit like it was intended for. |
