Blog domain name is my keyword. good move?

I have a blog that is my number one keyword "homecarecleveland.com"

i use this as a way to communicate in my area about topics my business deals with. I also link to my companies website with it.

my questions are:

Is this a good seo move?

How effective is it?

Once I get a lot of good content on the blog, will having the domain name as the keyword rank it high in google? (I was hoping it would so I could point users to my other site)

Having your core keywords in your domain name gives your site a little bit more of "boost" in Google's ranking. However, if the keywords are too generic, it is difficult for users to remember, and it may be a blunder for branding.

I think using a blog in this manner is a solid move. Yes, Google seems to give a bit of a boost, not sure how much, for keywords in the domain. I would use it as a content heavy blog in order to gain organic traffic and then have some kind of lead gen area on each page.

Having the keyword within your domain name is always a good move. In terms of how the blog rank, is another story.

In order to rank well you will have to add a lot of great/relevant content to your blog. If you continue to build your credibility, increase your viewership and amount of incoming links to your blog you will more than likely see yourself move up in keyword rank.

However, make sure you are not always "selling" people or making plugs to your main website. People pick up on the sales pitch and don't like it. Offer up valuable information.
