Yahoo SERP and positions
Dear All,
Ours is a herbal men's supplement -firminite.com
We noticed a strange feature in yahoo positions in the last one month,
We ranked first or were in the top 5 for some hot keywords consistently in Yahoo searches but on two particular days the keyword was in 29th position and similarly other keywords went to the 2nd page etc and reverted back to the top 5 after two days
What is the reason?

Search Engines are always updating their index according to available data. May be for those particular two days they found your site is not eligible for a rank in top 5 and they drop you.
But then they realize the truth and give you your deserved ranking.
When the ranking is back, I guess don't need to worry about.

I have seen sites jump 50 places overnight and back again a few days later. What with new algorithms being tested and tweaked it is possible that is the reason for the jump. Or maybe you have being looking while the are processing an update for your site (seems unlikely as it might only take second). It could be the competition have got a load of new links that made them look good for a while.
With the delay in rankings coming through I always give it a week or two with a newer site before I worry, more established sites should be more stable in the serp ranking.

Yahoo is always like that because unlike Google which considers tens of elements and aspects which would fix the status and rankings of the websites, the Yahoo positions may go up and down, even for some older sites powered by thousands of backlinks. In some cases everything may return to the normal status soon.

Maybe they're testing the Bing results on a server you bounce off of sometimes
How do you rank in Bing?

This has been a regular scenario of mine, whenever my keywords are up in Google, they're down on Yahoo and vice versa...I'm not particularly sure if this is healthy or not

I think jsteele823 nailed it on this one. My results have been jumping around from their regular spot and mirroring my bing results.
