Why do my Yahoo rankings suck?
I am a bit perplexed by this. I have a new site (one month old). I have a well optimized site and have a number of backlinks. I am on page 2 for my keywords on google already. For some reason, I am not included in the SERPS for Yahoo and Bing except for my Twitter account! My twitter account is on the first page for one of my keywords on both Bing and Yahoo but not my site. I suppose this isn't the worst problem because the meta description for my Twitter is the same as my site but still...
Is Yahoo and Bing just really slow at indexing sites or do they have a significantly different algorithim? Thanks!

hi
create and submit XML sitemap if you want to index your site on all the search engines.

Oh wow I never knew that, I'm gonna look into this and see if I can get this done for my own website also! I want to see more traffic on my site. Hopefully I can do it correctly the first time. Never knew that sitemapping would get your site into more search engines.

All you need is a good link to your site to have the search engines spider your site. I never used a site map on any site ever.

Yahoo rankings seems to rely quite a lot on the age of your site. Nothing you can do with that.
Just work your way with google. Bing and yahoo will eventually follow.

I have the same issue. Our site dropmyemail.com is ranked high in google. But it does not appear on the first 3 pages of Yahoo. Does age really matter so much for Yahoo?

Have you checked to make sure that Yahoo & Bing are crawling your site correctly?
Google's crawlers are more advanced, so they can generally spider faster, go deeper and overcome more technical problems. Look at your HTTP server's raw log files to make sure Yahoo's "Slurp" / and Microsoft's "bing" is crawling the site correctly. "bing" is the most important one.
Also, check to make sure you don't have them blocked in /robots.txt

There is a sitemap submission options for bing, but if your pages have been online for any significant length of time (> 2 weeks say) and they still aren't indexed, then it is most likely another problem that the xml sitemaps won't solve e.g. pages blocked from crawling or no inbound links.
