    Virtually no Yahoo! traffic?

So on any given day I've been getting about 1,000 visitors from Google (which by the way just dropped last week, see my thread in the google forum). From yahoo, I get about 10 per day! Obviously I'm doing something wrong in the eyes of yahoo.. My site is http://www.tutorialized.com

Does anyone have any suggestions? comments? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Kurt

Simple, you have one page indexed by Yahoo so far. New site?

    http://search.yahoo.com/search?x=op&...59-1&vm=p&n=20

Click above, that shows the number of pages indexed by Yahoo.

I would also like to know this.

I started a site back in october, it now holds a few top 10 positions in Google but is nowhere to be seen in Yahoo. Yahoo seems to have 32 pages indexed (Google 700)

(hmm weird, I just refreshed the Yahoo results and it now shows 147 results indexed) only two are shown though, the rest are "omitted"

    Ooh now it's 127 121

Are they doing some kind of update? (Dance)

Anyway, my site is fairly well SEO optimized so I don't understand why I'm not anywhere in the serps except for some obscure phrases.

I've seen similar things in terms of Google far outweighing Yahoo.

I only get about 50 a day from google and maybe 8 a day from Yahoo. I'd like to optimize better for Yahoo, because I know its got potential.

The spider only visits once a week or so, where Google visits daily.

be patient. Yahoo takes a lot of longer to crawl a site, and take even longer to analyze the pages crawled.
My traffic from Yahoo is small, but the trend is increasing.

Smile what really bugs me is what yahoo omits...

I hold #4 and #9 on Yahoo.com for the keyword "Leanni Lei" (Caution, adult content) domain: Leanni Lei

    1. Why Yahoo decided that these two pages should first off have rather independant ranks, I don't know...

    2. Why Yahoo decided that the phpBB forum page and the contact page were the most relivant (and it omitted the others) I don't get... as I'd personally say these two pages are the LEAST relivant

Now in terms of traffic, I get about the same from Yahoo (#4 and #9) as I do from Google (#62)

    a. My personal feeling is that Yahoo does a FAR FAR superiour job filtering out spam for this particular keyword than google does.

    b. It also seems to do a WAY WAY better job removing duplicate content.

    c. It also seems smart in the sense it ignores 1 pager's - dropping out alot of the Thumbnail Gallery Post Pages (TGP)

Did you submit to be included in Yahoo Directory.
This happend to me last year around the same time, when i got included in there directory. As soon as i got in, my trafic stopped for Yahoo, MSN, Inktomi etc...

i think a key reason in no getting as much traffic from yahoo is that yahoo usually has at least 3 and sometimes 5 sponsored links before you get to the real results.

I am getting about same amount of traffic from Google and Yahoo.
When I check my keywords on Yahoo, my rankings are like in the 50s. I have no idea how I am getting this Yahoo traffic!

    Update

Okay, so 5 months since my site was luanched and Yahoo! finally has it listed.. high in the SERPS in fact!

It seems that the explanation was simply.... Yahoo is slow.

HOWEVER! I have a VERY INTERESTING Twist..

Last week, my site finally came out of the "Sandbox" on Google and moved up the serps. So for the past 5 days, I was getting 4,000 unique visitors daily from Google.. yay.

Well, last night, Yahoo decided to list me as well.. odd that they wait 5 months, and both Google and Yahoo have me ranking high in the serps in the same week! My traffic has doubled since yesterday because of yahoo.. Now I'm up to 8k unique visitors daily.. That's up 7k unique visitors daily in 1 week. (I was getting 1k uniques before the google move and the yahoo move) Needless to say, I hope this maintains for a long time.

Very nice traffic k2! I'd say I get about 75% of the traffic from yahoo as google. It has definately picked up lately, perhaps their ad campaign is paying off.

Your traffic "stopped" from being included in the Yahoo directory?

Yahoo, I think, has many of my pages, but I get very few visitors from them. I'd love to have my Yahoo traffic back! Since they dropped Google, I have noticed a large drop in traffic. I'm afraid if I optimize for Yahoo I will be deoptimizing for Google.

There is that possibility Renee. You could try a whole new page (some new topic), and try optimizing just that page for Yahoo. Play around with it until it ranks well in Yahoo, and who knows, it might also rank well in Google. But if it doesn't, then that's ok, since it wasn't a part of your Google-ized site anyway. Just a thought...
