Vbulletin vs. community server for SEO

My question is this -I currently have another site designed using asp.net and was considering adding a forum to the site- to help and create some content for it. If I use vbulletin which is php the easiest way to integrate into the site would be to run it off a different host- and give it a (URL address blocked: See forum rules) url
how does this effect page rank. will the standard domain benefit from the forum- or only by people finding the forum and then finding the main site via a link on the forum.

Or I could use community server 2007 - which is asp.net based
anyone have any experience with that program?

How is vbulletin vs community server for SEO? or ease of use

    Sorry for babbling- long day

There is really only one forum / bloggin software for IIS and that's community server. If you know your way around Windows servers then use it and save the trouble of a whole new server for only the forum portion. SEO wise it should be fine from what I've seen of it.

Do'nt see how this is Yahoo related though.

This gets into the topic of if forum urls matter for SEO.
I hear all the time that while most IPB boards dont use a SEO mod, they still rank very well in Google and so on. For vB, theres vB SEO, which you could argue is better than nothing at all.

vBulletin uses data managers which you can use to easily modify data. It depends on what you want to do exactly.
