    Tracking Organic Conversions

What is the best way to track organic conversions?

I've been using Google Analytics, but it seems like its counting the ppc ads in the organic conversions. (When I look at the organic keywords that are converting into sales, it seems like all the keywords are ones that I have on adwords or yahoo search marketing. And when I do a manual search on google, those keywords don't even show up in the organic listings.)

i would recommend using a separate app for this.

you can try either smartstats or awstats, both of them give a quite detailed info about your traffic, visitors and ur top keywords and how much hits u are getting out of it plus the geographic locations.

I have been using a combination of awstats and Hit tail to monitor my traffic. It takes a bit of studying but once you get the hang of it you will see where your traffic comes from, how they found you, and how many have converted.

you can use http://www.google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?answer=27255 to generate url's which analytics can track effectively. Moreover, you'll have to enable Auto-tagging under My Account -> Account Preferences in your adwords account to let google analytics differentiate adwords and organic clicks...

The best way is to create your own application for that purpose.

I don't believe either will do what was asked. Awstats I know won't.

Setup a goal in Analytics and use the goal tracking path to see where they came from. I never had a problem with organic/ppc but maybe there is. I don't know.

BTW this would belong in Website Analytics. You want to know your Yahoo traffic but it is really related to analytics.
