Question Need Help with Bing Analyzer Results

    Good evening everybody.

I have done a Bing Analyzer on my website at : www.godsfellowship.org.

The results show a few issues that need work. The one that confuses me is the statement that I have no keyword meta tag info on my site.

here is a screen shot of the analyzer report: http://screencast.com/t/6gEZ5fTU5ie

and here, is the html top portion of my site: http://screencast.com/t/HZUpJAudpcF

now, on the lower portion of that screen cast, I see this at the RED ARROW position.

    Isn't this a Key word meta ?

The keyword meta tag is considered an outdated metric. Back in the day, the keyword meta tag was used to tell the search engines what the page was about.

So many people abused this that the search engines quite giving it weight as to what the page was / is about. Today it is ignored by Google, Bing, and Yahoo. There is some speculation that some of the minor search engines do give it weight.

Do not consern yourself about it. If you don't include it, it will not hurt your seo efforts. Some SEOs include it just to be complete in their process.

Bottom line, if it makes you feel better here is what it looks like and it should be placed between the <head> and </head> tags, generally right after your page title is a good place.

    <meta name="keywords" content="keywor or phrase,keyword or phrase, keyword phrase"/>

The maximum number of characters is considered to be limited to 255.

There you go, use or not. It will have little bearing on your SEO efforts.

I don't quite understand you second question. Could you explain it a little better?

What I can say is that your meta tags are, well not right. You are using them as if they are the description meta tag from what I can see from the screen shots.

Per our discussion via pm, I will address this issue for you tomorrow.

As far as that red arrow (in your web interface I'm assuming), I'm not sure what it is, If you click on that red arrow..what does it do? it looks as if your into the Edit Html section, and not being able to see the whole page, I'm betting you have a save button somewhere?

yes that is a screen cast arrow I used that is provided by Jing screen cast. the html is from my blogger and is only a portion.

I just wanted to use the arrow to point out the place where I thought a meta tag was.

No worries. If meta tags are not important to ranking., I wont give it much concern.

    Thanks for the continued help.

Just for the Halibut, I used your meta tag code, putting in my key words and placed it under the <title></title> tag in my html code. What happened next you may or may not believe. Blogger, rearranged that code after I submitted it. I suspect this is why Bing is not recognizing the key word meta tag. its coded very different than what you offered above.

But since it matters not , I wont worry about it.

I may be missing something but what I'm seeing in the bing analyzer screencast photo is that it's saying it's missing the meta tag for language, not for keywords.
