Indexing in Bing

Hi

My site is indexed on 900 pages in google. But only 1 page for bing. Why it happens. What to do for indexing in Bing.

the rate of indexing happens at the search engine's discretion, it is beyond your control.

Google's crawler is a lot more powerful than Bing's hence you get indexed more quickly by Google. I'm not sure if there is a cure, unless Microsoft suddenly decides to make their system more powerful.

The truth is Bing is much less used, maybe the internal settings of their system is calibrated to correspond to the volume of search they handle.

You can create a sitemap and submit it to Bing to help the process along but my experience with Bing is the same and every article I've found on this topic suggest that search engines work on their own.

Bing is so up and down. One day I will check and it says something like 1000. A couple of days later is says 100 or 200. Then, eventually it is back around 1000. It is so inconsistent, at least for me. Google tells me way much more. I just figure Bing doesn't have it together technically when compared to Google.

i think google algorithm is different and bing algorithm is different, so your pages not indexed in bing

Google and Bing have different types of setups. Bing is not a competitor of Google. Both have separate algorithm so you have to not worry. You just add your back links and try to follow Bing rules to promote your website pages.

I think about two possibilities:
1.The site owns many pages with duplicate content.
2.The site owns these lines in robots.txt to not to index site for Bing:

Hi,

This is my first post on here and was searching for the same problem for four different sites. Each have approx 200 pages on Google and only 6-9 pages listed on Bing. (The sites only have on average 80 pages but had duplicate link problem I have only just fixed).

I was about to shrug and say 'oh well' when I got to 'geneoliver' post just above this one. As I mentioned already, have only just sorted out the canonical links so perhaps this is enough to let bing list me better. I will report back.

Yes you can submit your site on Bing web master. "adcenter.microsoft". then you see the effect.
