    Talking I love Microsoft

And as a IT security specialist, that's a phrase I never thought would come out of my keyboard.

But I have been trying to get my site into google serps for 5 months, and reached a dizzy 552, for 2 days before being kicked out again. I had payed absolutely no attention to MSN search at all, but was aware of its bot munching at my bandwidth. I tried a search for my main keyword phrase in Beta, and found myself at no 1. out of just under 1 million

I think Bill Gates is a wonderful man, Microsoft as a company are superb, in fact I think that they should be given control of the world. But seriously, with a result like that, may Google crash and burn.

Yup, absolutely true, hence my hope that it takes off. I also notice that whilst MSN shows about 1m results google has 1.6m. The truth of the matter is though, if MS tie the next release of Windows into this new search engine, hits from it will be a plenty.

Anyone have any idea when the new MSN search will be released? Been hearing lots of different dates, even that is was released already. I only played around with the preview version and the results were pretty good at least for my key terms.

MS are planning to integrate it into their desktop before the end of the year. Quoted from WebPro news, so no idea of its accuracy. ALso I'm not sure how they will do it, prolly in the form of some sort of service pack.

Just because your site is obviously doing more successful due to it's optimization with MSN doesn't mean Microsoft is doing something right. You lack proper material for Google and are not worthy of a top position there.

They could put a MSN searchbox in the toolbar in the next Internet Explorer update.

    MaxM,

I appreciate that my site may not be what google is looking for, I am neither a pro web designer or a SEO, I am a regular bloke trying to do what he can to get his site listed.

I have followed about all the rules and tips I can find anywhere, I am #1 for allintext and allinanchor. The site may well be "not worthy" of a top rank position. But surely somewhere within the top 1000 is not too much to ask.

My site has good content, a resonable amount of BLs, most importantly, if somene is searching for the keywords I am targetting then they want to see my site. Whether they choose to buy is up to them, but the site is informative, the product is good value.

MSN Beta seems to appreciate this. I'm also wondering how you know all this about my site, when I have not listed the URL.

MSN is more prone to accept seo tricks than google. The beta is not as bad as Yahoo, but it isn't as good as google for relevant results. If they try to tie it in with the next OS, I think they will be sued not only by Google, but by Yahoo and every other search engine out there. BUT, who knows? Bill certainly is keeping his cards close.

"relevant results"?? How relevant can their results be when they don't list any sites that were created post 3/04? They're shooting themseleves in the foot, if you ask me...

What MSN turns into remains to be seen. However on MSN I am at number 2 and on G I fail to make top 1000. I know you've heard this story many times before. But what really gets me is that I m out ranked by completly irrelevant sites including an escort service which is in no way related to my line of business. This makes me wonder if G's results are as great as they make out to be. At the mo I am seeing the least spam on MSN. With Yahoo being the almighty Spam bucket.
