Well, I am not the expert on ranking in yahoo but I can give you a couple tips for bing

If you're ecommerce, have a clean sitemap, even 1% broken links and google will ignore it.

similar rules of the game of the game apply when it comes to keywords and links

Google and Bing have different takes on rel=canonical, Bing does not like site wide rel=canonial, so check your tags

An obvious thing to do is to get on bing webmaster central and see if they're flagging errors for you.

As Bing Needs more quality content use a better quality content into your website.

Bing/Yahoo for us is actually growing much faster than google. After Panda and Penguin I've found that Bing grew and as a percentage it started to be worthwhile to dedicate some time to it. You can do a lookup of our site which is in the legal advice niche and which is pretty competitive. After Panda, Bing traffic was what held a lot together.

I struggle keeping up with reading google analytics and google webmaster tools, this seems like duplication for not a lot of reward.

Well for bing optimization you should take care of on page optimization. Bing give priority to on page more as compared to off page so do well in onpage and your site will definetly get ranked in bing search engine.
