    Bing for Lead Gen?

    hey guys
    I am not having too much luck with Bing PPC for direct traffic that converts. Client is asking for updated strategy and we have two options;

    1) Stop bing all together and move its budget elsewhere.
    2) Optimize Bing PPC for purpose of lead gen (collect emails and etc only not sell)

    This is for an online sporting goods shop.

    Any recommendations?

    Hey bkseo ... i think trying it for lead gen with a small budget is worth a shot but from what i've heard...the volume is just ...lower on bing so my hopes are not very high... I would have suggested bing shopping but I think they discontinued that...too bad...

    When you say, "not having much luck" - can you specify how much traffic you've sent (unique visitors), to what pages? I haven't used it myself but recall an ooold case study of a friend succeeding with it for dating leads, and have seen other case studies where the traffic converts better than Google, in fact (don't recall industry for those case studies).

    I ask because some people give up after say 100-200 visitors, or when they're perhaps making common mistakes. Even if you shared that info, it still wouldn't be enough to properly answer your question. A proper answer would really require looking at the account directly to see:

    general targeting (geo, time of day, devices, etc)
    budget
    bids
    keywords, match types, negatives
    ads
    landing pages
    tracking (i.e. to verify it's properly set up).

    You're assuming that the problem is Bing PPC - your channel. It could easily be one of many other factors. So I guess the first question is why assume that the channel is poor? Have you ported the exact campaigns from Google AdWords?
