    Anyone figure out MSN yet

My sites are #5 on google #1 on Yahoo for a very competitive key phrase.
On Msn I am having a hard time. I was #1 for awhile then I went to #10
for a few weeks, today I am #6. I can find any reason for any sites to be ahead of me. Don't know what I am missing. I have all the basics and BL's. Some of the site now ahead of me don't have much of anything.
Not optimized very few BL's no H1 keyword found once if any. Some are framed others are 1 page doorway pages.
    Anyone having the same problem?

Has anyone found MSN's guidelines or something similar? I wasn't able to locate it last I checked. Please post a link.

Sitewide links from large sites do wonders for MSN, for instance, a single sitewide links from a > 20 000 page website cause your site to rank #1 for a real competitive keyword. They are usually displayed as a single link but they count as much (and much) more.

This strategy makes it real easy to outrank (for instance) a website with over 500 links from different sites. What I've found out about MSN is that it's very easy to influence the serps, it doesn't have a sandbox or any BS like that. It also definitely helps to have a site that's compliant with webstandards but MSN doesn't care as much about frames or variables in url's (even though it's, offcourse, better not to use anything like that).

From my experience, MSN is by far the easiest SE to get top ranks, sitewides from a few large websites and you're done.

I agree 100% with Jammer. It sems that MSN loves inbound links with your keywords in the anchor text.

MSN does love lots of links and there spam filters are still in juvenile enough site wides aren't going to matter. But in my opinion site wides are a big waste of money.

If you are targeting other engines, then site wides may not be the way to go. If you gather a good handful of links from a wide variety of sites that rank well in MSN already then you can rank highly the same as using site-wides.

I don't see it guy where sitelinks make a differance on MSN.
I have a site with only 100 bl's ranking higher then my other site with 30,000 bl for the same key phrase.
The #1 site shows 1000 bl's which is low compared to the other sites.
