I have, or had, a non-commercial site with high ranking on its keywords on Bing. It bombs on Google but was #1 on Bing.
Lately a SEO consultant (if that is the right term) asked me to put ads, advertisement links, on my hitherto non-commercial site, for X dollars.
I agreed and I got some pocket money. I guess as a result of the links on my site, some financial services provider, and or insurance provider got some rank. The links are utterly irrelevant to my site's contents (which has no connection with financial services).
Furthermore the kind SEO consultant has kept (well, only three times) coming back for more.
In the meantime I see that my site's Bing rank has gone down. I used to have number one spot on my site's major keywords now I am down to number nine.
I wonder if, and would like to ask whether, Bing up-ranks sites that have no ads, or down-ranks sites that have ads?
I like getting pocket money (X = about 100USD per link) but at the same time if my site is going to disappear from Bing listings then, I would be a little sad about that.
BTW, I rate only about 140th on my major keywords on Google. I have no idea why Bing was/is so nice to me.
Tim
