Whats new with ask?

i was laying in bed last night trying to go to sleep and a commercial for ask comes on.

weirdest commercial ever. they keep talking about their algorithm.

what is old man jeeves planning? whats new?

Its some new marketing compaign. Problem is most people probably don't know an algorithm is involved in a search engine. They think there is a switch board lady producing the search results...

Haha, that's what my uncle thought happened with email (he complained because he made a spelling mistake in an email and thought it was stupid that they couldn't figure out who to sound it to, lol)

Yeah, I've been seeing those commercials and wondering if Ask is trying to make a move. Seriously, who uses Ask to look things up?

So far I don't think it's working 'cause all the people who I see that ad with are confused and end up asking me what an algorithm is. I usually play dumb to avoid explaining SE technology to my grandma.
