What is the best way to creae a sitemap that ASK can index?
My site was not located on ASK from what I could tell. If I searched google I was coming up second, with a PR of 4. I figured that I would be on the first 5 pages of Ask at least if I was 2nd on Google.
What is the best way to create an XML file that has the the needed keyword to place me in the ask search? Does it matter how many times the a "major" key word is displayed on the index.html page, or should it be throughout the site? Is there a program that make Sitemap generation accurate and easy? |

Ask uses the same protocol for sitemaps a Google. You can ping them with your map, but I had ZERO luck with this.
If you are doing well in Google, its likely to be just a waiting game with Ask....No worries, the traffic is hardly worth mentioning...Even for a #1 result. Their index is still pretty small, and they seem to crawl less and have a long time between caches. http : // submissions. ask.com /ping? sitemap= Just add your full sitemap address at the end and go. It will tell you if it was successful or not. (OK I am new cannot post that so, you will have to assemble the URL first...Sorry) --Melanie |

Ask also supports using robots.txt sitemaps autodiscovery, see example: Sitemap: http://www.example.com/sitemap.xml
