If your budget is constrained, you can also try installing the Teoma toolbar for a week or so and browsing your site every day. It worked for me.

So if your site is listed you don't have to pay for it?

GR.

Correct, Toema/Ask Jeeves is a crawler just like Google, MSN & Yahoo, albiet a little less active.

I just installed ask.com's toolbar and did a packet capture while running around a site. I can't see it talking to ask.com's server. I can see my googlebar talking to google to get the PR etc, I can see my alexa toolbar getting the alexa rank, but no ask.com traffic.

I also installed the yahoo.com toolbar as well, and that doesn't seem to be sending any traffic either.

There is another thread on here somewhere where someone said that Teoma is no longer offering the toolbar that I used. Note that it was a TEOMA toolbar - not Ask Jeeves. It's been a long time since I did that experiment (check the dates), so things may have changed since then.

fair enough, i misread

I just tried the teoma toolbar from http://sp.ask.com/docs/teoma/toolbar/

and it looks like they have changed it as it just looks like a rebranded ask.com toolbar. This toolbar doesn't send any browsing info back to teoma either

Bernard agrees: Thanks for the confirmation

I have never submitted sites to Ask Jeeves. After many months I find they do get crawled and I get good traffic, although nowhere near as good as from Google. Interestingly, whilst my sites are hosted in the UK, I consistently get higher placements from the non UK results from ask.co.uk and directly from ask.com.
