Should you bother to SEO your website for Ask?

One of my websites get some meaningful amount of traffic from Ask, but I never really SEO-ed for Ask specifically. I'm thinking about SEO-ing for Google, Yahoo and MSN is more than enough to get good SERP in Ask. True or false?

When it comes to them... don't Ask! Optimizing for the top three takes care of all the others.

Short answer: True

Long answer: A good overall SEO strategy will make the web site visible in most search services. The clue here is not to SEO for a spesific search engine, but to follow a strategy that you think will stand the test of time. It is the search engines that are supposed to adopt to us, not the other way around.

You will do well if you focus on keyword reasearch, building content and keeping your web site close to the relevant web standards.

True... The top three are all you will ever need. To be honest I don't get any ask traffic but DO got some rankings there so there search volume is extremely lower than even yahoo or msn. Ask can be manipulated by spam links so that is why it is not very good and gets low search volume.

as i've posted in another thread in other search engines, i've just started getting some good traffic from everyclick, they are powered by ask. I'm getting more traffic than from msn, ranking in similar positions for the same keyphrases... YAY!

No matter what you do in optimization it will affect more than just one search engine. You cannot optimize just for Ask or any other single search engine. Experience says if you optimize for the most difficult, Google, you do well in all; including Ask.

First of all from initial stage of optimization process, there is no differentiation in SEO process of SE....
Majority follow same think.... But keep in mind what ever position in any other SE, must must be in major 3 biggies G Y! MSN (Live).....

If you are getting nice traffic from ASK.com (Clustering the web)..... you try to maintain your position in ASk.com but main focus on biggies.....
