Poll - Do you pay attention to ask.com?

Ask.com has:

1) Nice commercials
2) Nice interface
3) 5% Marketshare
4) Smart CEO

Despite all that, nobody pays any attention to them in the SEO field. Do you?

I didn't choose any one of the options above because though I don't optimize sites specially for ASK, still I won't mind getting a rank there as well.

Ask has low traffic than Google...but in SEO and Internet Business, every single visitor counts, as long as they are targeted ones, and search engines provide just that.

After all, ASK comes just after MSN.

I rank for some VERY competitive phrases in ASK and get only a few hits a month. Searches that in google produce 1000s a day.

Ask has billboards all over san francisco right now, odd ones that don't even mention Ask on them.

The Algorithm is from New Jersey
Algorithm banned in China
The Algorithm Killed Jeeves
The unibomber ... umm something something... the Algorithm

They're planning on launching something next month.

I get some traffic from them, they were powered by Google but I wonder if all this publicity means they're developing something of their own?

I'm in Boston and I see all these ads too. I think they are developing or developed a new product.

Smart CEO - not necessarily a good one for the company. He said in Business 2.0 magazine that he was perfectly happy making $30,000,000 as long as his employees were happy. He likes to be just on the verge, almost elitist in a way, and his business choices, while not mega-earth-shatteringly-supermongously-googlish, have most in his company and household happy.

I like him, though I don't like his search engine. I just really want to like it. Then again, I also liked RC cola over Pepsi and Coke. Look where that got me.

I generally don't pay much attention to Ask.com. It's always nice to rank well in as many search engines as possible, but I mainly pay attention to Google, Yahoo!, and MSN.

I only worry about Google, MSN, and Yahoo. I dont think Ask will ever attract my attention. Although targeting a lesser targetted engine could potentially drive huge traffic to your site from what I've been reading.
Now as I sit here posting this I'm torn. Perhaps I will give Ask a little attention.

5% share is quiet good indeed; but they dont crawl often, and IMO their results are the worst.

I agree. I find that their results aren't as relevant as G and Y are.

i used ask once about 4 years ago.

that was the first and last time i used it.

in my opinion i feel that ask is just too sketchy for good and accurate results.

i mean if i wanted answers about computers, but it gave me the meaning of life for some reason, i would rather go ask an old lady on the subject of computers.

short: ask is crap, and i don't touch it when i seo my sites

I use it a bit. Get a bit of traffic from it to (not much really) I am on top for all my search terms pretty much. Never try to optimise for it though.

ASk

Ask obviously has some new concept or algorithm coming up in the near future, however I still won't be optimising my site for anything other than Google. Google brings in massive traffic, but I can't see the Ask algorithm changing too much from Google's efforts.
