So perhaps new internet users may like them.

I am slowly joining the google bandwagon. My wife always wants me to google.

Personally I thought it was easier to find stuff online pregoogle.

The word sounds like a joke.

Truth is I actually used Lycos until they started to pop up spam me.

I started with infoseek. Ask is picking up in traffic. Maybee you are right about the advertising. I like the function where you can ask a question.

i get over a 1000 hits for my site aday. and number of visits from ask increased by 100%. To be exact, from 1 a day it increased to 2 a day!

On one of my sites, so far this month I got ~400 uniques from Ask and that's almost 10% of the traffic I got so far on this site. It's true thought, that if it'd be again #1 on both Google and Yahoo! as it used to be, that would be just ~1%, but I agree with those who say Ask is providing more traffic lately.

My traffic from Ask is going up... last month I got 6000+... this month already... 6000+

I went there to check it out and they have a lot of interesting features. The google engineers need to get over there and check it out.

I checked Ask out when I started this thread... According to the NEW Ask trial users they liked it much better than Google and Yahoo. Even an avalanche can start with one small rolling snowball. Is Ask back?

I think they have reentered as a "contenter" with this new design.

I am glad that you posted this thread. The percentage of traffic that I currently get from them is small but if they increase every month then they could be a major player.

Ask is also bringing me some traffic now, which infers it is getting more visitors. They are advertising really aggresively in the UK so that is bound to have an effect. How long those users will stay with them is debatable, but if they are new users they may well stay loyal.

Worth giving Ask more attention in SEO?
