I believe it would be very similar to the way you would optimize for google. I also heard that it does not spider and you need to submit each page. Does anyone have different info?

Ask.com is powered by Teoma. They have a toolbar. I have anecdotal "evidence" that it may help in directing a spider your way. YMMV

Teoma uses a clustering technology. You need to concentrate on quality themed links to do well IMO.

I think it's a paid inclusion thing. Go to ask.com and at the bottom they have a link
to submit your site.
Anyone know of a free way of getting in ? or is this the only way ?

I get some traffic from ask.com. try those sentenses in your pages, even better if they're in titles.

what is performance bonds?
how do you select performance bonds?
how do you evaluate performance bonds?
where can you bug performance bonds?

....

Talking

I wonder how many people even use ask.com... I haven't used it in my whole life.

From what I hear, Ask.com is popular in the UK/England.

jfontestad, please refer to my previous post. Try installing their toolbar and browsing your site for a week or two. Let us know if it works.

ask jeeves is rather slow to list new sites (about 1.5 months or so after it finds them)

the best way to rank good would be inbound links from related sites. you can pay for inclusion, but the $30 would be better spent on a directory listing in my opinion. it also takes links from related topical sites to list well in teoma.

for bond stuff try to see who is linking to other important bond sites and who are the important bond sites and try to get what links you can. you also can help to further define your topical authority by linking into many other related websites.

He may have meant it. He may specialize in "height challenged" individuals (being from California, we are always mindful of others, i.e. we never say "short").

Exclamation

I must say, disgust, that seeing these kind of replies 100 times today on evey single thread is getting on my nerves! Please stop spamming the forum, seems like you are reading each post and trying hard to come up with any kind of answer or followup to post.

If you continue doing this you will get reported as a spammer. We apreciate your contributions, but there is a line...

that's just it, I'm contributing to threads, you're not.

blatantly going off topic and occusing someone of spamming isn't really going anywhere- if you wanted to contact me, it'd make sense to do so in a PM, not post the same thing in three seperate threads.

how on earth can you "appreciate contributions" but not appreciate contributions past a certain point? if you don't want people to post (why on earth wouldn't you? it's a forum, that's what it's THERE for), then it should be stated somewhere.

I'm hoping that I've just run into a few members that don't speak for the admins of this board, because it seems quite insane.

I'm contributing to your forums, and I'm being attacked for it. I haven't done anything remotely against any of your rules (which I did read), unlike a lot of your other users.

I suggest you guys lighten up before you lose a lot of your visitors. this is really pretty insane.

well.. from my experience i found it on my site various times.. I thnk it is called Jeeves in stats.. but Only found 1 to 5 search redirecting to my site from that search engine.. so from my point of few.. optimize but not for jeeves.. do for yahoo, google and inktomi.. at the end ur site will be optimized for almost all SE.
