How do you get indexed with Ask Jeeves?

We have seen many times that the TEOMA crawler has been trhough our site, this month, last month, but it never appears to display the results.

Does anyone have any idea why this may be?
Is there a way similar to yahoo where you can post an rss feed to get indexed quicker?

TIA,
Roadracer.

Any Ideas?

I think they are running a Huge buffer to ensure there is longevity in the articles and that they are not going to be indexing a bunch of RSS feeds.

Patience and move on with your other promotions. There is no magical Rain dance that is going to make that traffic fall on you.

Even when you are indexed with ol' Jeeves, he really doesn't bother to send ya much traffic anyway I'd focus on getting indexed in some of the other SE.

Yeah I have never seen much of an effect either. Thought it would increase after all the News coverage on them. But no such luck.

Different response with AskJeeves using RSS

My response with Ask Jeeves has been very different.

My syndicated url's are crawled every two or three
days by Jeeves and are updated fairly frequently.

My top indexed syndicated sites on Jeeves (on page 1
for highly competitive keywords) are also listed on yahoo
and MSN as #1 thru #4 in the same exact format.

Additionally, two of my url's do not have a single "traditional"
backlink and still show on page 1 of most of the top SE's and
many of the PPC's (FREE) and it can only be because they
are syndicated.

I don't think "traditional" links play as much a role as they
once did.

GOt the Mr Jeeves

OK I got my Answer with in a 5 min what I learn if your web site has been index by Mr.Jeeves than just search yourwebsite.com into the search Box and if your site has been index by M.J then there should be a |Cached| other wise no...Index.. hm-mm so what to do next well I guess the Answer of 2nd Q of my is that yes there is no ADD URL opt at M.J then you have to send an email at url@askjeeves.com. Including message your URL and a brief description of your site. But before you do this you must spend some time at M.J..

Thumbs up :d

Teoma is a very slowly updating engine, you might have to wait 30-60 days bfore it updates.
Since "Mr. Jeeves" is no longer playing the "pay-for-inclusion" game, getting into their search results is now matter of collecting inbound links and waiting to be spidered by their Teoma Bot.

Take this requiriments:
- Your site should load quickly, easy to read and easy to navigate
- Should be updadet regularly.
- Should offers additional links to the user's question
- Should demostrate credibility by providing author and source citations and contact information.

I hope it help!

Regards,

Facundo Oliva

I agree. Just from my own experiences doesn't matter if the site is 6 years old or 6 months they are the last cowboy to come riding into town. G or y can be crawling my site for days weeks or months then there is .... wait ... it does exist ...

It is really slow and it may take up to a few months to be indexed... just be patient.

Things that help:
1) Have very good uptime (there are rumors that they keep check if a site is up)
2) Have as many backlinks as possible
3) Have a page that loads fast

Dmoz

I find that getting an entry in DMOZ helps with AJ.
