Based upon my site's web stats, Jeeves is mostly used by surfers in the UK and Netherlands.

They were poinding my servers so hard that i first put a crawl delay in my robots and as i got no traffic i just refused them access completely.

I have a forum that they took down because they pounded it so hard but never sent any traffic so i blocked them from that as well.

For the amount of bandwith they use `v` the amount of traffic they seont it is mostly best to just deny the entire ip block.

Very rarely. Although they are running a major TV ad campaign (at least on the East coast) so I have started to include them in my daily routine.

Askjeeves vs Google

To be honest I've never really used Askjeeves and it would seem that as far as the UK marketplace is concerened noone else does. Everyone seems to head straight for Google when researching products and services and this trend is only likely to increase despite the best effoirts of the smaller engines. Askjeeves has it's undoubted strengths but what's the point?

Alfie
