Anyone try Jeeves sponsored listings yet?
I was just wondering if anyone had tried out Ask Jeeve's new sponsored listings. I was trying to see if there was a set-up/activation fee but I couldn't locate it. Anyone know about that?
How bout how similar it is to adwords/overture? Better/worse? |

I have been working with it for about a month now, and I am less than impressed. Most of the campaigns get no clicks at all, despite high click bids and the fact that they do very well on every other engine. The few campaigns that do get clicks seem to be the victims of serious click fraud, reaching their maximum budgets in just one or two days.
Before you sign up, be sure to read the fine print about what constitutes a probably fraudlent click (in their minds) - clicks less than 2 seconds apart are not okay, but if you're clicking over and over, 3 seconds apart, it counts. Also, if you don't keep detailed traffic logs for more than a couple of days at a time, you'll have to watch it very closely to save the records to give to Ask.com if you suspect fraud. I've had no luck whatsoever in getting the fraudulent campaigns refunded, despite the fact that they draw more clicks than some of the same Google campaigns...but I do have hopes that I can get it fixed over time. It's just hard to get things sorted out at first. |

ASK sends almost no traffic. MSN adcenter is decent in some markets, but ASK is terrible. IMO of course.

Quote:
The way ask implements their sponsored listings imho is completely misleading to a consumer and I've seen the worst conversion rates on there ever. Even running mirrow campaigns with the same copy on ask, overture & google -> ask converts less the 50% of the lowest (msn) other campaign. |

THIS THREAD IS OVER 1-YEAR OLD and Ask can be conquered merely by optimizing for Google. Ask is too small to be treated as a major player, i.e. unlike Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

I have tried it. It's not good for direct response search campaigns; but if you are trying to generate awareness about your product or service, it's okay.
