Newbie Google Analytics
Hello,
I can see lots of numbers each day of visitors and all sorts of things. In mid January we indexed a thousand pages and Google traffic is still the same. In fact it went down a little.
It seems like a doctor who can tell you just how ill you are but cant actually fix you??
Confused...:*(
Thanks
Pam

Just because google indexes more of your sites pages don't mean they will be clicked by people! In other words, if people don't see your pages (they aren't ranking etc) or they don't find them relevant, having more of them indexed will make no difference to your traffic or conversion!
As for the doctor comment, those guys work for many years before they know everything, and guess what seo, analytics and so on are the same, it takes time to learn what your doing with all the data so don't be too hard on yourself, just get stuck in to learning what to do with it

To use your analogy:
Google Analytics is an ANALYTICAL TOOL
Just like an MRI is an analytical tool
In order for an analytical tool to be of any use you need:
1. Someone who knows what they are looking at and what it means
2. Someone who knows what to do to effect change in what you are looking at
They don't give you an MRI ignore the results and send you home. They have an expert look at them, and then (if required) do something with the information gained.

Looking at one of your comments analytically
In fact it went down a little.
It may well be that you spread all of your link weight throughout many of the newly indexed pages and that is why you saw a drop. If this assumption is correct, you will probably see a drop in average SERP position on your keywords in WMT. Analytics will also show you where your traffic dropped and for which keywords.
