Why is Alexa saying I have popups

I finally have some information listed about my site and it is horrible. It says 98% of sites load faster! I know we aren't that slow. My pages are not graphic intensive the only page that has a lot of graphics is the main page and I have cut it down to as little as I can. I am thinking they must have visited when my hosting company was having problems. And the other thing it is saying that we have a lot of popup! Why is it saying this? I don't have any popup ads I don't even think I have links that open in a new window. If I do it is very few. I don't get this. Oh and the other thing that I find amusing is now that I don't have the toolbar on my computer my traffic ranking has gone way down! I mean it was saying some days 44,000 for the day now its like 400,000 and the thing is we have had a lot more visitors lately. I need to just quit looking at alexa.

You've got way too much javascript in your HTML


and too many seperate scripts....

Alexa thinks there pop-ups.....

Put them in an external file.....

EX: <script src="java.html"></script>

put just java source on page java.html - no script tags

Yea, the traffic info from alexa is not very accurate.
I don't think they are using unique visitors.

I do know how to do external javascripts. I just didn't do that on all my pages. Next time I update I will fix that. Thanks for the tip. I am not totally stressed more like annoyed. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

I avoided the external java's too for a while - but as soon as I took the time to read how to's - it was sooo easy..

Also remember, your visitors using Alexa toolbar may have some kind of ad-aware or malware in their machines that generates random pop-ups everytime the browser is opened or they navigate to other website.

alexas data gets a little more acurate when your site reaches the top 100,000.

This is the load time of your site I would say it was fairly good you could reduce it some but I would say it was not as slow as Alexa says. This is an excellent site to check load time.
