Hire a bunch of low cost people (can be done online I am sure) to install the browser and surf on your site like crazy. Only, have them search your targeted keywords, and just click on your links...

Seriously, have anyone every tried this strategy? Should think it would work, at least in smaller countries...?

realityhack disagrees: Bot's would be cheaper. And worrying about Alexa is pointless anyway.

My answer is not wrong. Alexa is also to do with inbound links and backlinks of a certain site. It is based on what I have read and observed

Alexa rank is based on over ten million toolbar users evaluating websites that they visit and evaluate for quality, web traffic, navigation structure, content and inbound links. As with any tool Alexa rank is guide and can indicate whether website quality needs to be improved.

realityhack disagrees: Fail, Fail, FAIL! So much fail in that post that I don't know where to start. Even Alexa's page does
not claim what you do.

where can I get this alexa booster software? I've read that the effect is not long term. if you're using it, your site will rank higher but once you stop using it, your site will go back to where it really belongs

realityhack disagrees: Why on earth would you want such software?

I don't know what's the point in caring so much about alexa. IMHO it is more important to focus on increasing the traffic.

dont think of alexa, concentrate on how to gain more visitors that are easy to be converted into buyers.

Exclamation thankyou guys..

the entire thread was a good learning on alexa ranking..so basically , it depends on if the user or visitor has tool bar installed or not ?

thats really bad...what if majority of your users dont have toolbar installed ?

i guess google analytics would give you a particular idea..
why cant google come up with something like google traffic rank in addition to the Page rank

cheers
Josh
