It depends, how does that ranking compare to your competitors? For instance, if you're at 700,000 and your competitors are at 1,000,000+, then its a good indication that you're getting most of the traffic for your market. If you're at 700,000 and your competitors ranking is 500,000, then you've got some work to do.

Alexa ranking is not good for anything other than a novelty, it will not bring you additional traffic...

Agreed. When I was 18,000 there wasn't a difference than now when I'm 30,000

The Alexa ranking is garbage.

Alexa is geared toward being downloaded by certain webhead types. They have limited distribution. To give an example of how crap it is, some of my personal sites get as much traffic as my seo sites. My SEO sites are almost always in the top 100,000. My personal sites are always way into the millions.

There is even Alexa autosurf traffic exchange software on the market...Alexa = garbage unless the number is less than 10,000 and there is not a large amount of intentional manipulation...

Just by downloading the toolbar and surfing your own site you can be a top 100,000 website. I think this is part of the reason why SiteBuildIt is so fond of Alexa. It gets people to track the results of themselves visiting their own sites and watch the numbers go up as they build more site and surf their own site some more...self propigating garbage in my opinion.

No wonder my rankings went up. Of course, I don't have it now. The spyware remover got rid of it. I don't think its acurate anyway. Not from what I can tell.

That's what I've seen. It doesn't matter a lick to my site at least.
