High visitor but low rank. Why?

Dear Friends,
I have a drupal website.
Its daily visitors are more than 300, max 700 and min 2000 pages per day. But its ranking is very low.
3 Months: Rank 778,168
Why?
I have other websites with less than 100 visitors but their ranks is near to it.
Thanks in advance

But As u know the criteria of alexa for ranking is on basis of reach and page views.
Is that right?

Your Alexa rank is very much dependant on whether your typical visitor has the Alexa toolbar installed. You could have 10,000 visitors a day, but if none have the Alexa toolbar then to all intents and purposes you have zero visitors. Similarly, for you lower traffic sites, if a large percentage do have the Alexa toolbar (often the way for technology & webmaster related sites) than you're going to see a disproportionately good Alexa rank.

It's for this reason that Alexa rank should be seen as a novelty gimmick rather than a serious judge of site success.

Other Ranking Systems?

Thanks! i had read this issue in the alexa.com but i think the visitors of other website don't know any thing about alexa toolbar, because the subject of website is related to real estate.
Do you know other ranking systems like alexa but with different criteria for ranking?

There are various ones out there that attempt to calculate visitor numbers through methods like Alexa, as well as using other metrics such as inbound link quantities etc.

Ultimately though, any method is always going to be nothing more than an educated guess without access to a site's own statistics (and even alternative stats packages can give differing numbers).

Your focus is much better spent on factors that actually count for something, such as your SERPs position, your conversion rates, your bounce rates, your page views per visitor, etc, etc. These are things you can do something about -- your competitor's traffic isn't.

I hate bad advise! everyone talking about Google and PR just nack off! If you don't know, don't post! Simple!

He is asking about Alexa.

Our rank is in the 700,000's we get around 200-250 visits a day, hopefully that will help you compare against your traffic stats and rank.
