Yes, i matters to me, it tells me the quality of the site's traffic. But if i'm buying traffic , i don't trust it.

Useless for seo, great tool for webmasters though .

Alexa rank is just an indication for pr, but frankly speaking, you can't ignore it, high alexa rank deserves something.

Why? If it's so easy to *fake* Alexa rank, why should anyone be bothered with it?

You cannot completely avoid alexa rank. Alexa rank is considered as a website standard. Alexa rank will came in to concern while you are trying to sell your website or a new advertiser approaches you. Websites with high alexa rank always got high prices.

It no longer is a standard as of now, maybe only the top 100 counts.

It would be nice if you get high alexa ranking and you know you did not cheat, but buying a website based on alexa ranking nowadays is just wrong.

I think it shouldn't matter that much.

Alexa Ranking means nothing to me as it is highly inaccurate and does not remotely signify how much traffic a site is getting. I can get a fairly good ranking just by having the toolbar installed on my computer and visiting my site for regular updates.
