I'm interested to know if anyone has any behind-the-scenes information on how alexa works...

eg, what is transmitted to their servers and how (http, proprietry protocol).

Etc.

Pop open a packet sniffer and take a peek...

If you are thinking of making a tool to spoof traffic to Alexa though, I'm sure they aren't that stupid and have some sort of checksum that is calculated and transmitted so data can't be tampered with.
