That is a good sign. 68K Alexa is already good enough because when you are on the top 100K, your website is finally developed and more visitors will come to your website daily. Aside from Alexa toolbar, Seoquake is also a good toolbar which every time you visit a website, it gives you stats automatically like Google PR, Alexa rank, backlinks, etc.

Alexa just helps you monitor your traffic and compares this traffic to other websites and rank you, so you are able to monitor your performance but then hey look again, it can be hacked and cheated so do not depend on it that much, just check out blackhat seo forums and they can easily help you out how to cheat your alexa ranking.

SEO_AM agrees: Do not use Alexa within SEO... It is totally inaccurate.

I've noticed once you get under 100k Alexa starts acting funny...

The first two weeks of 2010 I've had the highest traffic ever, most ppv, lowest bounce rate, highest avg time per visit etc... but now Alexa keeps showing me around 75-80k by day, while less traffic and worse stats above last month were getting me around 25-35k rank by day...

A lot of people who start SEO work immediately think they should get high Alexa ranking just because it's beside Google PR in SEO toolbars. How disappointed they would be when they come across this forum.

This will cause some stick no doubt but here me out before you tie me to the fence and beat me to death.

I tested various tests on alexa and it came back with some weird results, i tested about 30 sites for different keywords and was intreged at the results displayed in the top ten.

Now going by all the statements about alexa rank playing no part why it is that most top ten always have the highest alexa ranking, not in order but overall.

Why is it you hardly ever see a site in top ten with crap alexa rankings, find me a site in top ten with crap alexa rankings and see how difficult it is to find. Also sometop ten sites are targeting keywords with low hits so why are their alexa so high, easy manipulation.

keywords 3,000 hits a month and showing alexa 300,000 hits a day.

Granted you could say that this is because they are in the top ten and gaining traffic, true, but surely you would see the ocassional site pop up in top ten which doesn't have a low alexa.

Also it is in Google's interest to list the most popular sites because it is in effect most likely that people are finding what they are looking for otherwise the traffic would be low.

I also boosted my own alexa from 21 million to 30,000 in the world in 2 weeks using manipulation and found myself rank one in 3 weeks with little pagerank at the time.

The only true way to test this theory in detail is to do no seo on site, new site and manipulate it and see if position increases in search engine.

Google will also not tell people even if they did use this otherwise thousands of people would use manipulation which uses bandwidth up and would slow quite a few sites down which do not have decent bandwidth limits.

It would also make alexa totally useless should they use this data in ranking factors, i feel if you can lower it then why not, after all who knows for sure except google.

Also found my pagerank jump to 2 in three weeks with little seo work, some advertisers alsouse alexa to determine if adverting is worth doing on a site so influence them.

I am not saying other factors are not included, backlinks, seo on site, so fourth, I just think it seems silly why google would not make good use of this like yahoo does. It makes no sense at all other than to not divulge this information publically for manuipulation reasons.

It is in Googles interest to send people to sites for keywords which have large amount of hits, shows authority for one, hence ranking sites on this as well as other tools, algorithms.

I can hear the shotguns loading now, if anyone has a site they want to test for alexa, let me know and will boost it and see if it climbs up.

Will take a day before your alexa rockets, 2 weeks and iv jumps 21 million places. lmao

My other sites are around 15,000 in alexa.

Could be interesting experiment, just a thought.
