Alexa chewing BW

What's the go with Alexa chewing so much bandwidth and the spidering. My site gets hit every day,
currently there's been 379 hits which consumed 15.44MB this month.

Is this normal? My sites PR0 but nearly 10 months old, and my Alexa rank is 255,000

Why all the spidering? My site isn't even in Archive.org, it doesn't exist according to them.
Also the thumbnail in Alexa is 4 months old, i just clicked the update button. But you would
think leeching 15MB of bandwidth a month they would at least grab a few KB thumbnail.

In comparison:
Alexa: 379 hits 15.44MB
Inktomi: 897 hits 7.04MB
Google: 75 hits 2.12MB

Also Alexa doesn't even show any backlinks, when i have over 40 in Google and a few hundred
actual links when checking for all links elsewhere.

Should i just block Alexa totally or just allow spidering on the index page and block the rest of the site?

Call me paraniod, but sheesh 15MB a month for seemingly nothing what are they doing?

Is it alexa or archive.org ?
I know that modlogan displays it wrong, check the raw logs.

You can always add a robot rule saying, no to alexa, archive.org ala amazon

Yes it's Alexa and not archive.org, i don't even display in archive.org despite my
site being online 10 months. I noticed other sites started long after mine are showing, not
that i really care about that part.

Now i'm sitting on about 450 hits and 20MB from Alexa, and 1,200 hits from Inktomi
I just think the bandwidth is a bit excessive, my sites not all that big probably 100-150 pages
plus the forums.

20MB for what? Having their page just say a rank of 250,000
