We are looking for SEO Affiliates! (Plus, what to avoid in an affiliate provider)

FlowerPetal.Com has created a new kind of affiliate program. As ex-affiliates ourselves we were sick and tired of affiliate providers scimming our customers with their branded emails, having other companies run 90 days to pay us, not getting paid our commission on significant "handling fees", not getting any credit for phone sales and then having those customers scimmed away from us with branded phoned messages, and having affiliate providers put us in a noncompetitive position by running promos on their site that they would not run on ours.

We decided to change things. We truly put our affiliates in business for themselves.

Our flower and gift program offers:

1. 10%-12% Commission
2. A completely branded site right down to us hosting your security certificate
3. Branded email newsletters
4. Generic customer service with you getting credit for phone sales (minus a $3.00 charge, sorry but we have to pay the reps and something is better than nothing which is what you get on other flower programs)
5. Competitive pricing on products
6. No delivery or handling fee on flower orders (this really increases the conversion rate most companies charge $9.95 which they don't pay you on anyway)
7. Daily sales tracking (we encourage affiliates to test the tracking by having many friends and family place orders!)
8. and much more... Including your ideas (we aim to assist and develop technology needed by our affiliates)

Examples include:
http://flowers.mobilegreetings.com
http://centerstage.flowerpetal.com
http://www.flowerpetal.com

If you have any comments please list them on this thread and if you are interested in participating in our affiliate program please email me at: brian@flowerpetal.com

Datafeed

Nintendo,

Currently, we do not have a data feed, but plan on developing and XML interface down the road. I'm not one of the tech guys, but I hope this answers your question.

Brian actually sent me a direct Email soliciting interest in this program - looks like a different Email address than in my signature, so he may have even looked up Hulk's Email address manually.

This isn't my cup of tea, but I would be curious if any other SEOchat folks also were contacted.

alek

Contact

Hulkster,

I contacted 3 or 4 SEOChat members who looked like they might be get involved in the kind of program we're offering.

Do you have any suggestions on developing an affiliate program? I enjoyed reading Michael Wong's article and am having my deveolpers add a few features he suggested to our system.

It's fairly clear on what not to do. It's the things to do that seem more elusive... Other than more money of course.

Regards,

Brian

Sorry, no ideas for your Brian - I haven't dabbled in affiliate stuff. Thanx for the followup - was more just idle curiousity what happened.

Good luck,
alek
